38 TikTok-Approved Beauty Products You Need Now

By now, you’ve heard this story one too many times: I downloaded TikTok as a joke (or, in my case for research) and now I can’t stop scrolling. Sure, I may not be actively participating in the countless challenges and may not identify as an e-girl or a VSCO girl, but I gobble up the under one-minute videos on my “For You” page for longer than I’d ever care to admit.

Now, if TikTok is still a foreign concept to you, let me break down the “For You” page concept really quickly. It’s basically like the “Discover” page on Instagram. Once you login into your account, TikTok serves you videos catered to your interests and the type of content you interact with. With several hashtags racking up more than a billion views, TikTok might not have influenced me to purchase a puka shell necklace but it has successfully convinced me I need certain beauty products. 32 to be exact. The most recent ones? NYX’s Shine Loud Pro Pigment Lip Shine and a much-needed restock of Vaseline for slugging. (Not to mention all the beauty dupes I’ve stumbled upon!)

No matter how much my “For You” page fluctuates, these (along with so many other products and brands) keep popping up with glowing reviews from their users, and they’re extremely practical and budget-friendly. Starting from $9 and mostly under $20, I’m actually excited to add these to my beauty routines. And as I keep using TikTok, I’ll keep updating this article with other products that have raving reviews.

Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant FirmX Temporary Eye Tightener

It’s been a while since the whole of TikTok flocked to one specific product, but user @trinidad1967 has officially changed that. Recently, Trinidad posted a video using Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant FirmX Temporary Eye Tightener and showing its quasi-instant (and amazing) results in real-time, which has understandably caught the app’s attention. Trinidad’s video has accumulated more than 24 million views in five days and, of course, the product has sold out on Sephora, ULTA Beauty, Walmart, and Amazon — but, don’t worry, it is back in stock on Peter Thomas Roth’s website, though delays are to be expected.

As board-certified dermatologist Geeta Yadav explained to Allure, though it might seem like it, this eye cream isn’t magic and has silicates to thank for its popularity. “Think about how your skin feels when you’ve applied a clay mask — as it dries, it starts to contract and feel tight. The same effect is at play when you apply this product.” While, like the product’s name itself indicates, the results are temporary, the eye cream also includes peptides in its ingredients list for long-term benefits, though surely not as instantly perceptible.

Essence Glimmer Glow Lipstick

Another lipstick from affordable makeup brand Essence is making the rounds on TikTok. This time, it’s the Glimmer Glow Lipstick. The unconventional lipstick features all the glitter and sparkle you’d expect from kids’ makeup from the ’00s but goes on clear, later leaving your lips with a soft rosé tint. The cruelty-free lipstick achieves this color by adjusting to your personal PH level, which means it will work and suit all skin tones.

REFY Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel with Lamination Effect

If you are into the laminated brows look but don’t want to commit to the actual chemical process, TikTok has found the perfect product for you. Enter: REFY’s Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel, which uses wax to emulate the effect.

If you want to achieve the full brow look, the brand, which was founded by Jess Hunt and is available at Sephora, also offers a brow pomade and brow pencil. (Or, you can buy all three as part of the REFY 3.0 stage brow collection for $55.) The gel comes out white but dries down clear, but the pomade and pencil are available in three shades: Light, Medium, and Dark.

Paula’s Choice’s international bestseller is also a TikTok fave. TikTok beauty influencers such as @whatsonvisface and @skincarebyhyram constantly rave about this product and about Paula’s Choice as a whole. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, make sure you add this to your routine up to two or three times a week (start off slow and build up your tolerance!) to see a difference in appearance and texture.

No matter how many times you refresh your FYP, there’s no escaping CeraVe. The affordable, drugstore skincare brand has been making rounds on TikTok because, well, it works. CeraVe has been around since 2005 but its path to becoming viral is partly thanks to Hyram, the Youtube and TikTok sensation deconstructing skincare products and their ingredients and showing followers the correct way to apply them. Though I don’t suffer from acne, I do get hormonal pimples every month, which I tackle using Zitsticka and religiously double cleansing my face with Then I Met You’s Cleansing Duo. However, I still feel like I need something extra to really tackle them on time and not pick at them until I make them worse (I’m an expert at doing that) and this cleansing bar from Urban Skin Rx seems right up that alley. If you were bummed that Corsrx’s Triple C Lightning Liquid was discontinued, then rejoice because this is a worthy successor. As somebody who has struggled to find the ideal Vitamin C serum, I agree wholeheartedly with what Ben Neiley says about Soko Glam’s new Vitamin C product. Sure, it may only have a 10% concentration of ascorbic acid (compared to the 20.5% of the Corsrx Triple C Lightning Liquid) but that just makes it more sensitive skin-friendly without sacrificing results.
