38 TikTok-Approved Beauty Products You Need Now

Table of Contents

By now, you’ve heard this story one too many times: I downloaded TikTok as a joke (or, in my case for research) and now I can’t stop scrolling. Sure, I may not be actively participating in the countless challenges and may not identify as an e-girl or a VSCO girl, but I gobble up the under one-minute videos on my “For You” page for longer than I’d ever care to admit.

Now, if TikTok is still a foreign concept to you, let me break down the “For You” page concept really quickly. It’s basically like the “Discover” page on Instagram. Once you login into your account, TikTok serves you videos catered to your interests and the type of content you interact with. With several hashtags racking up more than a billion views, TikTok might not have influenced me to purchase a puka shell necklace but it has successfully convinced me I need certain beauty products. 32 to be exact. The most recent ones? NYX’s Shine Loud Pro Pigment Lip Shine and a much-needed restock of Vaseline for slugging. (Not to mention all the beauty dupes I’ve stumbled upon!)

No matter how much my “For You” page fluctuates, these (along with so many other products and brands) keep popping up with glowing reviews from their users, and they’re extremely practical and budget-friendly. Starting from $9 and mostly under $20, I’m actually excited to add these to my beauty routines. And as I keep using TikTok, I’ll keep updating this article with other products that have raving reviews.

NYX Professional Makeup Bare With Me Hydrating Face & Body Concealer Serum

This $11 concealer serum from NYX is the latest beauty product to go viral on TikTok. The product is described as a “medium coverage concealer in a skin-care serum” with “easy, mess-free application.” It’s available in 13 shades and, best of all, in stock on both the NYX website and ULTA.

Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant FirmX Temporary Eye Tightener

It’s been a while since the whole of TikTok flocked to one specific product, but user @trinidad1967 has officially changed that. Recently, Trinidad posted a video using Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant FirmX Temporary Eye Tightener and showing its quasi-instant (and amazing) results in real-time, which has understandably caught the app’s attention. Trinidad’s video has accumulated more than 24 million views in five days and, of course, the product has sold out on Sephora, ULTA Beauty, Walmart, and Amazon — but, don’t worry, it is back in stock on Peter Thomas Roth’s website, though delays are to be expected.

As board-certified dermatologist Geeta Yadav explained to Allure, though it might seem like it, this eye cream isn’t magic and has silicates to thank for its popularity. “Think about how your skin feels when you’ve applied a clay mask — as it dries, it starts to contract and feel tight. The same effect is at play when you apply this product.” While, like the product’s name itself indicates, the results are temporary, the eye cream also includes peptides in its ingredients list for long-term benefits, though surely not as instantly perceptible.

Essence Glimmer Glow Lipstick

Another lipstick from affordable makeup brand Essence is making the rounds on TikTok. This time, it’s the Glimmer Glow Lipstick. The unconventional lipstick features all the glitter and sparkle you’d expect from kids’ makeup from the ’00s but goes on clear, later leaving your lips with a soft rosé tint. The cruelty-free lipstick achieves this color by adjusting to your personal PH level, which means it will work and suit all skin tones.

REFY Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel with Lamination Effect

If you are into the laminated brows look but don’t want to commit to the actual chemical process, TikTok has found the perfect product for you. Enter: REFY’s Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel, which uses wax to emulate the effect.

If you want to achieve the full brow look, the brand, which was founded by Jess Hunt and is available at Sephora, also offers a brow pomade and brow pencil. (Or, you can buy all three as part of the REFY 3.0 stage brow collection for $55.) The gel comes out white but dries down clear, but the pomade and pencil are available in three shades: Light, Medium, and Dark.

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

Paula’s Choice’s international bestseller is also a TikTok fave. TikTok beauty influencers such as @whatsonvisface and @skincarebyhyram constantly rave about this product and about Paula’s Choice as a whole. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, make sure you add this to your routine up to two or three times a week (start off slow and build up your tolerance!) to see a difference in appearance and texture.

Paulas Choice 2% BHA Liquid Salicylic Acid Exfoliant

CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser

No matter how many times you refresh your FYP, there’s no escaping CeraVe. The affordable, drugstore skincare brand has been making rounds on TikTok because, well, it works. CeraVe has been around since 2005 but its path to becoming viral is partly thanks to Hyram, the Youtube and TikTok sensation deconstructing skincare products and their ingredients and showing followers the correct way to apply them. Whether your acne-prone skin needs a bit of TLC or your dry skin needs a moisturizer that won’t disappoint, CeraVe’s got you covered.

CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser

$10.00, Amazon

The Ordinary

This solution might make your face look like you’re filming a horror story, but it has soaring reviews on TikTok. Users state it’s great for acne scars, for evening out skin tone, and improving skin texture. But the biggest reason why it’s popping all over your FYP is that it’s just so affordable! If you decide to cop don’t just do it for the TikTok and read how to use it accordingly. Exfoliating is great but in moderation. And, an important note: because of its AHA 30% + BHA 2% composition, after using this your skin will be sensitive so make sure you always follow up with SPF!

Urban Skin Rx Even Tone Cleansing Bar

Though I don’t suffer from acne, I do get hormonal pimples every month, which I tackle using Zitsticka and religiously double cleansing my face with Then I Met You’s Cleansing Duo. However, I still feel like I need something extra to really tackle them on time and not pick at them until I make them worse (I’m an expert at doing that) and this cleansing bar from Urban Skin Rx seems right up that alley. It’s allegedly perfect for all skin types and under $15, what else would you expect from an Acne Award wining-brand?

Exfoliating Towel

Here’s to another viral exfoliating product but this one isn’t reserved to the face. Face cloths and exfoliating towels are making rounds on the app because they also serve to exfoliate the body. Before you jump on the bandwagon though, make sure you read what experts have to say about the trend.

Move over Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil, there’s another viral lipgloss on the app. Enter: Tower28’s ShineOn Jelly Lip Gloss. MyKirei by KAO Foaming Hand Soap

Never in a million years, I thought I would be influenced to buy hand soap but TikTok had other plans. While MyKirei by KAO’s Foaming Flower frequently Shaped Hand Soap goes out of stock I am determined to purchase it one day. Luckily., their new Paw-shaped hand soap is in stock so that will do for now.

Eucerin Daily Hydration Body Cream with SPF 30

If you’re still not wearing SPF on a daily basis, this viral drugstore cream will hopefully change that. Not only is it only $8 for an 8 oz. tube, which means you’ll have more than enough for the beginning of spring, but its formula also doesn’t leave a white cast. So you have no excuses!

Petroleum Jelly

Are you on “slugging” and “moisture sandwich” TikTok? If you’re not, we’re here to put you in because a viral hack where all you need is petroleum jelly is always worth a try. If you have doubts or concerns, take a look at @charlotteparler’s TikToks on how to slug the correct way.

Eos Shave Cream

Shaving your pubic area safely has always been a top concern – nobody wants to cut themselves, get unwanted razor bumps, or ingrown hairs. Luckily, TikTok seems to have found the holy grail of shaving creams to avoid all the above. (Not to mention, the shaving technique to accompany it.) However, do note that these shaving creams are scented and if you have sensitive skin you might want to reconsider.

Eos Shave Cream

Caudalie Instant Detox Clay Mask

From what TikTok shows, it seems the oils and gunk that live in your pores are no match for this Caudalie Detox Clay mask. Made from clean ingredients, you can count on this mask to remove impurities from your skin without irritating it. If you don’t believe the TikTok hype though, it also has great reviews on Amazon and Sephora.

Caudalie Instant Detox Clay Mask

Dr.Jart Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30

Get that “no-makeup, makeup look” without using foundation with this magical correcting treatment from Dr.Jart+. The secret behind this product is color correcting 101; its green hue, which later turns beige, works to cancel out any redness on your skin while shooting it. It is worth noting TikTokers have found this product works best on paler skin tones since it might make darker skin tones look ashy (and nobody wants that!)

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Sleepair Intensive Mask

$39.00, Sephora

BECCA Cosmetics Under Eye Brightening Corrector

Half of TikTok is embracing the under-eye dark circles with makeup and the other half is swearing by this under-eye brightening corrector from Becca. Best of both worlds.

BECCA Cosmetics Under Eye Brightening Corrector

$32.00, Sephora

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer Hot Air Brush

By now, you would’ve noticed TikTok users love a product that makes your life easier. Whether it’s cleaning your beauty blenders or leaving your face feeling brand new, leave it to them to find that item you didn’t know you needed in your life. This time around, it isn’t something you put on your face but something that leaves your hair looking like it was done by a professional. Best part? It’s under $60 and you can buy it on Amazon. Give it up for Revlon’s One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer Hot Air Brush. It’s so good, even our channel production manager gives it five out of five stars.

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer Hot Air Brush

$60.00, Amazon

Good (Skin) Days C’s The Day Serum

If you were bummed that Corsrx’s Triple C Lightning Liquid was discontinued, then rejoice because this is a worthy successor. As somebody who has struggled to find the ideal Vitamin C serum, I agree wholeheartedly with what Ben Neiley says about Soko Glam’s new Vitamin C product. Sure, it may only have a 10% concentration of ascorbic acid (compared to the 20.5% of the Corsrx Triple C Lightning Liquid) but that just makes it more sensitive skin-friendly without sacrificing results. I add three drops to my moisturizer every morning and have definitely noticed my face has become brighter.

Good Skin Day’s C’s The Day Serum

$26.00, Soko Glam

Beauty Washing Machine

Look, I always wanted an Easy Bake Oven and I’m enthralled by those mini cooking videos on Instagram so it only makes sense that I would want a mini washing machine that will make cleaning my new beauty blenders that much easier — and fun. Sure, I might be biased when it comes to miniature objects but after seeing so many TikToks showing how well they work, you bet I’m making a spot for this in my makeup vanity. And the best part? It’s under $15 and you can find it at Walmart, Urban Outfitters, or Amazon.

Lahaima Makeup Sponge Mini Washing Machine

$10.00, Amazon

Freck Beauty OG Freckle Pen

The process of getting faux freckles has never been easier thanks to Freck’s freckle pen. Dab two or three dots with a good amount of product and then use your fingers to “copy and paste” the faux-freckles across your face for a natural look.

Freck Beauty OG Freckle Pen

$22.00, Urban Outfitters

Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil

By the end of 2019, I started giving lipglosses a chance. Now, for 2020, I want to become a lipgloss girl just like I was in middle school when I had an unhealthy amount of watermelon Lip Smackers. That being said, I was excited to add this Juice Infused Lip Oil from Ulta to my repertoire. Tower28’s lipgloss in Fire, tarte’s Sugar Rush Lip Sip Vegan Lip Oil in Cherrylipgloss, and Dior’s Lip Glow Oil in 001 are my current faves, but my expectations were met. This lipgloss has the right amount of cool and pop.

Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil

$9.00, Ulta

Essence Kiss The Black Sheep Lipstick

According to a marketing representative of Essence, after this TikTok blew up the beauty brand saw a 10x sale increase. The power of teens!

Essence Kiss The Black Sheep Lipstick

Kaja Cheeky Stamp Blendable Blush

E-girls rejoice, there’s a blush for all your kawaii looks and it’s already heart-shaped. Sure, the stamp blush from Kaja is meant to be blended in (and it’s a staple on Dove Cameron’s everyday makeup routine) but we must admit that it looks very cute as is, too.

Kaja Cheeky Stamp Blendable Blush

$24.00, Kaja

e.l.f Mix to Match Foundation Undertone Adjuster

If you have also struggled to get the right shade of foundation when online (and now also in-store) shopping, user @makeupbymonicaa has you covered with her coin-saving discovery. Instead of throwing out or returning the wrong shades you ordered, mix them either with e.l.f’s Mix to Match Foundation Undertone Adjuster or L.A Girl’s Pro Matte Mixing Pigment to get a perfect match. The best part? They are both under $10.

Mix to Match Foundation Undertone Adjuster

$4.00, e.l.f. cosmetics

Beauty Blender

When it comes to applying makeup, I favor using my trusty fingers. Sure, I use Fenty’s Precision Concealer Brush here and there for pesky dark spots and Glossier’s Detailer brush when I want to serve up a Euphoria-inspired eye look, but more often than not, I apply my foundation with my hands. However, after watching so many TikToks, I just might jump on the beauty blender bandwagon. From giving my hands a break and actually applying makeup like an adult to using old beauty blenders for curls (love a good TikTok hack), the possibilities are endless with these little sponges. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to buy the next beauty product…

The Original Beautyblender

$20.00, Ulta

Editor’s note: Previously, this list included Purito’s SPF, which has now been removed due to the brand’s recent controversy.
