Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, have a good one! — That’s Not My Age

So here it is…The holiday season is upon us, time to switch off and kick back with family and friends. I’m looking forward to lolling around and doing very little. I made a quick dash up north to see my mum in-between rail strikes and so, next week we are staying put. Reading, walking, eating, hanging out with friends – the usual stuff. My wish-list is filled with simple pleasures. I’ve just re-watched the entire first series of Happy Valley in preparation for the third and final season; I’m literally counting down the days till Sarah Lancashire is back on the beat…  If you have time, check out our best books of 2022, chosen by brilliant authors and booksellers, and what to watch on TV HERE.

Having gradually slowed my work rate down this week, I’ve realised just how busy the last few years have been. Quick freelance update, and apologies, I’ve been meaning to tell you this for a while: my weekly column for the Telegraph, which started as a maternity cover, has now ended. It has been a fantastic experience and one I always dreamed of, and I will continue to freelance for the newspaper. From January 2023, I have a new monthly ‘Fashion Confidence’ column in Woman & Home magazine (print only, this won’t be published online) – and a lot more headspace. Phew.

One thing I want to do over the coming months is a proper review of That’s Not My Age, and I will be asking for your help! But, for the time being, that can wait…

Thank you all so much for your loyalty this year. For following That’s Not My Age, subscribing to Patreon, buying the sweatshirt, listening to the podcast and most of all for taking the time to write all those incredibly thoughtful comments. Your contribution is very much appreciated, it really does spur me on and keep TNMA in motion.

Whatever you’re doing, wherever you’re going, wishing you a wonderful, relaxing holiday and a peaceful 2023.

Back in a bit,

Alyson x

STYLE NOTES

Golden Years sweatshirt from the TNMA Edit. My stretchy gold trousers are an old Isabel Marant Etoile sale bargain (similar HERE and silver fancy pants HERE). The gold slingbacks were a gift from LK Bennett last year ( for similar check out Jigsaw’s sparkly Odette shoe, reduced in the sale, and Russell & Bromley’s Slingpoint) and my dangly earrings are old J.Crew.
