Rosie Huntington-Whiteley reveals motherhood has altered her beauty priorities

She shares four-year-old son Jack with fiancé Jason Statham, with the couple currently expecting their second child.

And Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has admitted that motherhood has altered her beauty priorities as she no longer has the time to spend trying new products or thinking too much on her appearance as she’s ‘time-poor’.

In a new interview with Vogue magazine, the model, 34, told how being a mum means she doesn’t ‘have that time for yourself’ to keep up her beauty standards, adding that she often has to sacrifice either her hair or make-up routines in the mornings.

She explained: ‘When you become a parent, you become time-poor. You don’t have that time for yourself, or that ability to just go off and lock yourself in your bathroom in the middle of the day and play around with products. I certainly remember having a lot of that prior to my son being born.

‘Oftentimes, I’ll have to decide: it’s 9am and I can do hair or make-up, which one is it going to be today? Usually it’s make-up because I can just throw my hair up.’

The stunner also went on to note how becoming a parent has led her to rethink her motion of beauty as she sees the world differently now, with Rosie recalling that conforming to beauty standards did not play a big role in her upbringing.

She said: ‘On an emotional level, I think you just start to see the world through your children’s eyes. You start to think about what you want to instil in them. And you think about what their impression of beauty will be, and of me as they get older. I grew up in a household where we weren’t self conscious, we were not aware of the way we looked.’

She told how she doesn’t wish to ‘place a big importance’ on looks and beauty, but accepts that it is a ‘big part’ of her job as a model.

Rosie added that her thoughts on beauty will continue to ‘evolve’ over time and will be ‘important’ to keep a check of as she has ‘more children’.

During the interview, the Victoria’s Secret angel recalled her first impressions of beauty were watching her mother get ready while growing up on a rural farm in Devon, adding her mum Fiona was the most ‘glamorous’ person she’d ever seen.

Rosie noted that the ‘idea of beauty’ was not ‘synonymous with that kind of lifestyle’ with living on farm, noting how in her family it was important to offer other traits including ‘humour’ and ‘enthusiasm’.

Rosie went on to discuss recognising the ‘transformative nature of beauty’, while also speaking of how her love of hair and make-up began to ‘evolve’ when she began modelling aged 16.

Rosie announced that she was expecting her second child with partner Jason in August.

Last year, Rosie stated that she and Jason would ‘love’ more children, and that their 20-year age gap as a couple isn’t a problem, stating: ‘Nope! Never been an issue! Age is nothing but a number!’
