In June, Scott Disick announced that he was taking his business ventures beyond Talentless, his clothing brand, and entering the beauty biz as a partner in In Common. The hair-care brand was co-founded by celebrity stylists Nikki Lee and Riawna Capri. As a partner, Disick will be “collaborating on content creation, product development, and community growth and engagement,” according to the brand.

Lee and Capri co-own Nine Zero One, a salon in Los Angeles, and are known for their work with celebrities like Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez and Emma Roberts. In Common was created with Luxury Brand Partners, the company behind R+Co and IGK.

Disick filled Glossy in on his decision to get into beauty, as well as his own grooming and self-care practices.

Why did you want to get involved with In Common?
“We have a mutual friend, Tev Finger, who is the CEO of Luxury Brand Partners. We spoke over six years ago about doing a project together in the hair space, but it just wasn’t the right time. But we just recently started reconnecting over the last year, and he told me about this new company, In Common. I loved the name immediately. Because of the success of my clothing brand, Talentless, I thought it was time to expand and get into something different. I wanted to do something that appealed to both men and women, and hair just seemed like a no-brainer. After doing my research, I found that In Common has some of the best products on the market. All they needed was more marketing, which the Lord specializes in. So, I flew down to Miami to meet them at their offices a few months ago, and now we’re in business together, and I really couldn’t be more excited.”

What is your favorite In Common product, and why?
“Let’s talk about Magic Myst. Obviously, I’m consistently around women every day, and I hear about what products work and don’t work all the time. This really is the one product that, if I give it to any woman, they absolutely love it, especially because it works for all hair types. It’s like magic. Basically, Magic Myst is like infusing the hair with vitamins. It transforms the hair and is the best leave-in detangler.”

Who is your celebrity hair icon?
“David Beckham has always had the best hair, and he’s had so many different types of styles that everyone around the world has copied. Brad Pitt and Jake Gyllenhaal also have great hair.”

What is your hair-care routine?
“My hair routine is also pretty simple. Since my hair is now blonde, I started using the Clear Haze Universal Shampoo and the Mojave Rain Moisturizing Enhancer, both by In Common. I needed something that would help strengthen my hair after dying it. [The Moisturing Enhancer] is, by far, the best product I’ve tried.”

What is the Scott Disick secret to good hair?
“There is no secret. I just got lucky with good genes.”

What other self-care routines do you have?
“I’ve never been a gym guy, and since I have three kids who are extremely active, they provide all the workout I need every day. I try to eat healthy and stay away from too much sugar, carbs and red meat. I haven’t tried mediation yet, since it’s hard to find time between three kids and work.”

What is your best self-care tip?
“Drink a lot of water and get plenty of sleep. I don’t think most people drink enough water, and it really makes a huge difference in how you look and feel.”

Do you have a skin-care routine?
“My skin routine is pretty simple. I just wash my face in the morning and before I go to bed with Dove soap, and I also use Neutrogena moisturizer. It’s a really simple routine.”
