Skin1004 Centella Hyalu-Cica, Tea-Trica and Poremizing Reviews! – Unboxing Beauty

I really love Skin1004’s Madagascar Centella Toning Toner and Madagascar Centella Asiatica 100 Ampoule ~ see my review here on Instagram

I am pleased to see that they have created so many other versions: Tone Brightening, Hyalu-Cica line and now 2 more lines ~ Tea-Trica and Poremizing. All of these products are non-comedogenic and dermatologically tested. I have been using the Tea-Trica and Poremizing products and also the Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum and am ready to do a review on them!   Products were generously supplied by Skin1004 in exchange for a review.

Skin Type/Concerns: oily, blemish prone, dehydrated, aging concerns, pores, fine lines/wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation

I received these products complementary to review and was not paid.  All reviews are my own honest opinion and  I never have been asked to write copy for a brand.  This blog post might contain promo codes, affiliate and referral links, which using my links will help generate a small commission that helps support my blog at no extra cost to you.

Key Ingredients

Skin1004 uses Madagascan sourced centella, which is then extracted in French laboratories, using a method that utilizes low temperatures and filtering to ensure that the centella benefits are not destroyed. The extract is shipped to South Korea for bottling ~ this is making the rounds in three countries!  ⁣Centella helps soothe, replenishes, softens and rejuvenates the skin while deeply hydrating & strengthening the skin barrier. It is rich in saponins and is an anti-inflammatory, calming your skin. It is rich in amino acids as well as essential fatty acids, beta carotene and other phytochemicals, which help with wound healing and stimulating new skin cell growth. It has anti-bacterial properties and helps minimize the appearance of pores & since it stimulates collagen production, it will make your skin more supple and firm

Hyalu-Cica Line uses a Hyalu-Cica Formula, which includes centella and hyaluronic acid, to provide anti-inflammatory, soothing skin care along with  skin hydration replenishment. It contains three different types of hyaluronic  acid of differing molecular weight so it can hydrate both the outer and inner layers of your skin: sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, and hyaluronic acid.   This also has inositol, otherwise known as rice water in it.  Rice water is full of amino acids and vitamins and will help  keep your skin clear and moisturized, while helping to even out your skin tone by reducing hyper-pigmentation.

This line also contains skin brightening, antioxidant niacinamide for pore care, along with birch bark extract, another antioxidant that has anti-irritant and astringent benefits due to its tannins and triterpenes.  It can help with skin hydration, prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss) and improve the skin barrier.  This also has antioxidant botanicals with mineral-rich arugula, alfalfa ~ full of polyphenols and vitamins A, B, D, E  and K while helping to attract moisture to your skin and green tea, with its its high concentration of polyphenols, catechins, and tannins, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Tea-Trica Line not only has soothing and healing centella, but a Pine Tree Complex, with cypress, pine and tea tree, to provide relief from inflammation, irritation and blemishes, overall helping to soothe skin discomfort.  Hinoki cypress (chamaecyparis obtusa) has antiseptic, anti fungal and antiviral properties to heal blemishes and minor skin issues, like abrasions and rashes while purifying your skin. Tea tree is an anti fungal, antibacterial and  antiseptic ingredient and helps prevent and heal acne. Pinus palustris needles are blemish busting, healing, antiseptic, anti-aging, soothing and skin softening and moisturizing.

Poremizing Line contains centella and pink Himalayan salt to help reduce the appearance of pores, reduce excess oil, unclog pores and remove excess dirt, oil and debris. Pink Himalayan salt is rich in minerals, with anti-bacterial benefits to prevent blemishes.  It also helps with pore care, balances the skin’s oil and moisture balance and it exfoliates skin naturally.  This also contains hydrating humectants of panthenol and three different types of hyaluronic acids.

Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50+ PA++++  What is not to love about this sunscreen? Not only with its centella and hyaluronic hydrating formula, this chemical sunscreen has four UV filters that will help protect your skin from both UVA and UVB damage:  Uvinul A Plus (UVA),  Uvinul T 150 (UVB), Tinosorb M (UVA/UVB) and Uvasorb HEB (UVA/UVB). This also has skin brightening, pore care antioxidant niacinamide and yeast derived, amino acid adenosine, helping to improve the reduction of wrinkles, smoothing your skin and anti-inflammatory.

Ingredients: Water, Dibutyl Adipate, Propanediol, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Uvinul A Plus), Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Ethylhexyl Triazone (Uvinul T 150), Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol (Tinosorb M), Niacinamide, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Caprylyl Methicone, Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone (Uvasorb HEB), Glycerine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract(9800PPM), Betula Alba Bark/Leaf Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Triticum Vulgare Sprout Extract, Medicago Sativa (arugula) Leaf Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica Sprout Extract, Eruca Sativa Leaf  (alfalfa) Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate(10PPM), Behenyl Alcohol, Poly C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Decyl Glucoside Tromethamine, Carbomer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Adenosine, Xanthan Gum, t-Butyl Alcohol, Tocopherol, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid(1PPM), Inositol, Hyaluronic Acid(0.01PPM), Pentylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin⁣ cosDNA

I love the packaging on this tube ~ it has a nice stylized pump that is easy to use and the sunscreen doesn’t come out in a big blob. This is very lightweight, no fragrance and has no sticky or greasy residue.  It is hydrating but not dewy and works well under makeup and foundation.

Madagascar Tea-Trica Purifying Toner not only has the 9.8% centella and Pine Tree Complex, but it also contains BHA salicylic acid, to help unclog pores of excess, old sebum, dirt and debris. This also contains chestnut shell extract, which I found can have anti-wrinkle benefits and skin brightening benefits as it inhibits tyrosinase activity, which directly causes the production of melanin. (source ResearchGate)

Ingredients: Water, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water(12%), Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract(9.8%), Propanediol, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Methyl Gluceth-20, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Carbomer, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Tromethamine, Pentylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil(200 ppm), Sodium Citrate, Salicylic Acid, Castanea Crenata Shell Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract⁣ cosDNA

This comes in a tall green plastic bottle with a pin hole applicator.  The toner is very watery with that distinctive tea tree scent, along with some other herbals notes.  The pH level is a 5, so it is mildly acidic, and good for daily use ~ BHA pH levels are never really low anyway, so it makes sense this wouldn’t have a lower pH level. I did find this was a little bit tacky on my skin after immediate use, but once I started layering other skincare products over it, that residue was removed.  All in all, this is a nice toner and I think I will like this better in the cooler months, due to the fact is is so moisturizing.

Madagascar Tea-Trica Relief Ampoule also contains the key ingredients of 55% centella and Pine Tree Complex, but also a  patented Anti-Sebum P(HD),  consisting of evening primrose, arrowroot, pine needles and elm root which helps against oxidative damage to your skin, while healing and regenerating damaged skin, controlling sebum production, providing pore care and is an anti-bacterial.

Ingredients: Centella Asiatica Extract(55%), Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water(9.4%), Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Glycerine, Butylene Glycol, Methyl Gluceth-20, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycereth-26, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water, Hydroxyacetophenone, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Propanediol, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium EDTA Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil (200ppm), Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract⁣ cosDNA

This comes in a standard ampoule bottle, with a pipette glass dropper. The bottle is green glass and the serum is clear, with a tea tree scent. Please note, the tea tree scent is not overpowering in the Tea-Trica line, as it is tempered by other herbaceous fragrances and it is not heavy.

Unlike the Toner, this ampoule is not sticky on the skin at all and is very lightweight, quickly absorbing into my skin. I would say I do like this Ampoule better than the Toner, due to the lasting texture on my skin and I did find it to help to control the oils on my face.

Madagascar Poremizing Clear Toner ~ I will be honest, when I first received these, I thought I would like the Tea Trica line better than the Poremizing line, as I am a tea tree junkie.  However, I found the Poremizing line to be just superior in its formula, not only dealing with pores, oils and blemishes, but anti-aging care as well.   This Toner has 50.47% centella and salt ingredients of course, along with a 4 HA  Complex ~ This acid mix contains AHA citric acid, which helps remove surface dead skin cells and debris while smoothing skin texture, BHA salicylic acid to help unclog pores, remove old oils, dirt and debris deep within the pores, PHA  gluconolactone, for mild surface exfoliation while hydrating and LHA capryloyl salicylic acid, a gentle deep exfoliating ingredient.   This also has natural BHA willow bark extract, skin brightening, anti-aging chestnut shell extract and anti-inflammatory, moisturizing allantoin.

Ingredients: Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) Extract(50.47%), Water, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Hydroxyacetophenone, Betaine, Mineral Salt, Panthenol , Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Disodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Castanea Crenata Shell Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Citric Acid, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Gluconolactone, Sodium Citrate, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid⁣ cosDNA

This comes in a tall pink bottle with a pin hole applicator and has no color or scent to it.  It is slightly less watery than the Tea Trica Toner, but not by much ~ it is still very lightweight and absorbs quickly into my skin. This also has a pH level of 5, so it is mildly acidic ~ the 4 HA Complex in here is very gentle, so you can use this daily without irritation or redness.   This is a great daily toner to help target issues of inflammation, excess oils and clogged pores.

I reached for this Toner over the Tea Trica one consistently because I found it really helped with lots of skin issues that I had concerns with.

Madagascar Poremizing Fresh Ampoule is another favorite.  This has all of the key ingredients of 50.47% centella, salt, hyaluronic acid complex and panthenol, but that wasn’t enough for Skin1004.  They brought it up a notch with an anti-aging peptide-9 complex:

  1. Tripeptide-3 helps regenerate more collagen in your skin, so it boosts skin cell renewal. This is a good source for anti-aging and anti-wrinkle benefits
  2. Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 helps bind water to your skin, helps regenerate skin cells and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  3. Acetyl Octapeptide-3 (SNAP-8) is an anti-aging peptide, helps with relaxing facial wrinkles, and is more stable that botox and more effective than acetyl hexapeptide-3.
  4. Copper Tripeptide-1 aids in the production of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which help support and maintain the production of collagen and elastin, making your skin firm and retain moisture
  5. Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 is a combination of fatty and amino acids, stimulates collagen and elastic production, helping repair damage to your skin and reducing deep wrinkles and lines
  6. Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7
  7. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 (Biopeptide CL) is used for anti-aging, wrinkle treatments as well promoting skin repair and restoring itself
  8. Tripeptide 1 is a type I collagen fragment so it will help communicate to the skin to produce new collagen as old collagen breaks down.  This helps with reducing and preventing wrinkles
  9. Tripeptide 2 helps mimic your skin’s own natural skin exfoliation effects, providing cellular turnover and renewal, resulting in smoother and radiant skin.

For those who might not be aware, peptides are supposed to be at the end of an ingredient list.  You do not need a lot of them to provide their benefits. This Ampoule also has anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory licorice for a brightening skin tone effect as well as reducing flaking and smoothing your skin.  Chamomile helps calm down the skin and relieve redness effectively.

Ingredients: Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) Extract(50.47%), Water, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Glycereth-26. Hydroxyacetophenone, Glycerin, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Panthenol , Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Mineral Salt, Tripeptide-3, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Acetyl Octapeptide-3, Copper Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Tripeptide-1, Tripeptide-2⁣ cosDNA

This ampoule comes in a pink bottle translucent glass bottle with a glass pipette dropper.  It is the same packaging as the Tea Trica Ampoule, only in pink. I need to mention that the pipette is very sturdy on these ampoules ~ it doesn’t wobble, despite its long length. I did not detect a fragrance with this and the texture is a watery gel ~ it is more thick than the Tea Trica  Ampoule, that is for sure!

It does melt into the skin nicely as it turns watery quickly and does not have a sticky or greasy residue.  I really can tell how hydrating this is and it does help plump up my aging skin nicely!    This also has a cooling and refreshing feeling on my skin.
