Sydney Sweeney plays many roles not only on-screen but also in her day-to-day life. It must be exhausting to be constantly traveling for red carpet appearances, fixing up old cars, and playing the tumultuous role of Cassie in Euphoria. So, she maintains a masterful skin-care routine to keep her grounded, and she kindly shared it with Allure in our 10-Minute Face series.
Because Sweeney has combination skin, she says she’s prone to cystic acne, which plays a big part in deciding what steps and products she uses. First thing’s first: after waking up, she’ll use the Laneige Cream Skin Milk Oil Cleanser (Sweeney is a spokesperson for the brand) either in the shower or while washing her face after applying it dry on her skin. After cleansing, she pats her face dry with a towel rather than scrubbing it.
Adamant about always using eye masks no matter what, Sweeney pulls out her 111Skin Celestial Black Diamond Eye Mask. “I travel with these; I bring these everywhere. I’m always showing up to set with eye masks on,” she says. “Skin care has definitely gotten more important to me as I’ve learned the importance of skin care.”
While the eye masks work their magic, she sweeps her Esarora Ice Roller across the rest of her face. “I live by it,” she says. “It just wakes me up, I feel like it makes my skin feel good and takes away any puffiness.” While rolling both sides of her cheeks and her jawline, Sweeney explains that she usually leaves a few rollers in her freezer at home and keeps one in her fridge on set. “You might have seen Cassie do this in her crazy 4 a.m. beauty routine — it’s because those products were actually my products that I brought from home, and I went crazy with them,” she recalls. If she needs a pick-me-up after that, she dunks her face into a bowl of ice to completely wake her up.
Now, she’s officially ready to begin her skin-care routine. After removing her eye masks, Sweeney begins with her morning SkinCeuticals H.A. Intensifier Multi-functional Serum. She makes sure that she doesn’t actually touch the dropper to her skin to avoid spreading bacteria. Instead, she applies it with her fingers. “Hydration is key for my skin,” she says. “I travel a lot, so I have to make sure I’m giving my face and my skin proper food, proper hydration.”
The White Lotus actor then uses the Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream. “I am not joking when I say this makes my skin feel like it is just fluffy and soft and alive,” she says. “I was [recently] filming in a very dry state, and this was my savior.”
