The Willis sisters come across as celestial muses on earth, born with striking good looks passed on by Hollywood genetics and possessing an air of bohemian sensibilities. Tallulah Willis, the 27-year-old youngest of the bunch, continues to inspire others to be themselves and embrace their flaws through her candid revelations on social media.
She often posts about her mental-health struggles, self-acceptance and periodic updates about her skin-care journey and how she’s cleared up her acne. In her most recent post, she credits her dream team—which consists of an aesthetician, nurse practitioner, MZ Skin Care, and iS Clinical—for her four-month transformation.
Here, she takes a minute to share with NewBeauty the details about her skin and makeup routine, and why her generation is leading the way in becoming more honest and transparent than any other before them.
“My journey has been one that I have been vocal about in hopes that it helps even one person. We all have ups and downs and doing the work to really understand myself has been very humbling. Although we as humans are hard on ourselves, we must accept even the parts we don’t like. I have learned to be gentle and kind to myself as I am constantly evolving.”
Your generation seems to be more open and accepting than generations past, why do you think that is?
“I think the world has allowed humans to be human. My generation has created more acceptance and less judgement. With the way the world is, it is important to stand up for what we believe and support each other.”
Who are your beauty and style inspirations?
“I have so many, but a few that stick out are Kevyn Aucoin and his vision. For style, I love ’70s toddler and am also into a very glam late ‘90s.”
Which makeup products do you swear by?
“Rituel de fille, an illuminizer by Becca and a ’90s Stila lip and cheek compact from my mom’s makeup bag. Oh, and I always need a great hair clip.”
You’ve really cleared up your skin as you showed in your recent Instagram post. What does your daily skin-care routine look like?
“I’m a huge fan of the Korean Beauty philosophy of double cleansing, and find it is so much kinder to my skin than using makeup wipes to remove my makeup. I am obsessed with this clean beauty brand, Aloisia Beauty, and especially their Double Cleansers and their magical GLOW Exfoliating Soft Peel, that I use on my face and all over my body to exfoliate a couple of times a week.”
Mental health isn’t talked about as much as it should. What are some things that help you get through a rough patch?
“Breathing, mediation, being around people who make my soul happy, loving my dogs and journaling and bath whenever I can.”
We loved your recent Andie Swimwear photoshoot with your mom and sisters. You’re all stunners. What was it like on set that day?
“We are family and love one another so it was such a fun day working together.”
What does your typical self-care day look like?
“Sleep eight hours, drink tons of water, take a walk, be creative through work or my art, skin care and sleep. A perfect day consists of not being on my phone and cuddling my pups.”
